RestoringVision Appoints Elizabeth Walsh as Vice President of Communications and Marketing

SAN FRANCISCO, CA, June 17, 2025 – RestoringVision, the global nonprofit dedicated to providing vision screening and eyeglasses around the world, is pleased to announce the appointment of Elizabeth Walsh as vice president of communications and marketing.

In this role, Walsh will lead strategic communications and integrated marketing initiatives to enhance RestoringVision’s visibility, reach, and reputation. Last year, RestoringVision reached almost 6 million people living in extreme poverty with vision screening and near vision eyeglasses. In 2025, it expects to reach over 7 million people.

“We are delighted that Elizabeth has joined our team,” said Pelin Munis, Ph.D., chief executive officer of RestoringVision. “Her extensive experience in branding, messaging, and digital storytelling in international, mission-driven organizations will be a great asset as we scale our programs and deepen our global impact in the years ahead.”

Walsh brings more than three decades of expertise in communications, public relations, and marketing to RestoringVision. Most recently, she was the communications director for a global, U.S. government-funded malaria control program at Abt Global, working across 20 countries. Prior to that, she led communications for global health projects at both Chemonics International and Management Sciences for Health, overseeing branding, messaging, program communications, and events. As director of communications and marketing for Humentum, she led the rebranding of this global membership association. She directed communications at Americares during the Indian Ocean Tsunami and Hurricane Katrina. She also served in Benin, West Africa, as a U.S. Peace Corps volunteer.

“Eye health is an essential component of global health, and yet there’s a great unmet demand for eyeglasses, including near vision glasses,” said Walsh. “RestoringVision’s commitment to fulfilling this need resonates deeply with me, and I look forward to telling the stories about the impact of this life-changing work.”
