Meet RestoringVision’s New Partner Relations Associate: Jasmine Brinkley

Growing up in South Central Los Angeles, and then moving to Washington, D.C., Missouri, and now Florida has granted Jasmine Brinkley, our new Partner Relations Associate, the grace of not only understanding the needs of urban communities, but also the exposure to those organizations and trailblazers with similar goals in mind.

Jasmine’s personal goals include: bridging the gap in healthcare access in urban or remote communities, supporting anyone in lower socioeconomic areas, and assisting with improving the quality of life for the underserved.

“I became a recruiter almost 10 years ago in a way to give back, as someone had given me my first job opportunity. Now, as I am in the process of completing nursing school, I know that with God, my long-felt calling to care unconditionally for my community and this position with RestoringVision, keep me on the best path to do so successfully. I’m forever grateful to RestoringVision for bringing me aboard on this next journey.”

Why is RestoringVision’s mission important to you?

RestoringVision’s mission is important to me both personally and professionally because growing up in South Central Los Angeles, and living all across the USA, granted me the grace of not only understanding the needs of urban communities, but also the exposure to those organizations and trailblazers with similar goals in mind.

What do you enjoy most about your work at RestoringVision thus far?

RestoringVision allows me the ability to begin the journey in accomplishing some of my main goals: bridging the gap in healthcare access in urban or remote communities, supporting anyone in lower socioeconomic areas, and assisting with improving the quality of life for the underserved.

Who inspires you most in life and why?

My grandmother was a nurse for 64 years in various specialties and clinical settings. She was my first exposure to health care.  She had an unwavering determination to never compete with anyone else, only seeking to leave this world better than when she entered it.

What are you most looking forward to this year in your role at RestoringVision?

Reaching more communities with our eyeglasses, collaborating with amazing RestoringVision Leaders/Teams to increase Community Outreach Program outreach to new potential donors/partners, and actively further engage our current partners.

What do you do in your free time when you’re not solving the global vision crisis?

I am usually studying for nursing school, or working in the hospital in my spare time. When I can get a moment, I truly enjoy traveling and reading to both physically and mentally delve into new worlds.
