Why is RestoringVision’s mission important to you?

As far as I can remember, I’ve always wanted to make a difference in people’s lives. I never imagined the impact of sight loss until I started working at RestoringVision. Seeing the videos of all the lives being transformed with people regaining their independence from a pair of reading glasses is impactful. It warms my heart to know I’m able to help those far and wide, giving the gift of sight. I don’t think of it as a job, but a calling.

What do you enjoy most about your work at RestoringVision thus far?

What I enjoy most about my job thus far is knowing that the work I do behind the scenes makes a HUGE difference in someone’s life, not just locally but globally.

Who inspires you most in life and why?

My mom is my inspiration.  She is the strongest person I know. Growing up, we didn’t have a lot, but I watched her help others in the neighborhood and take in people who had no place to stay, all while working multiple jobs. She taught us that no matter how little you think you have, there is always someone who has less. We learned at an early age to share with others and be grateful.

What are you most looking forward to this year in your role at RestoringVision?

I’m most looking forward to seeing the growth within the company. The expansion of helping more people globally and overachieving our goals of giving the gift of sight!

What do you do in your free time when you’re not solving the global vision crisis?

I own 2 businesses so in my free time, I’m usually working. Outside of running the business, I have a nonprofit youth organization, and I spend a lot of time with my kids and grandkids. I am an Ordained Minister at Mt. Nebo Baptist Church in charge of outreach and missions work where we are helping to feed families and provide clothing and other needed resources.
